Spring has sprung! If you’re in Ireland at least anyway, February 1, and St Brigid's Day, is the first day of spring.
On other years I’d be like will ya get away outta that, BUT this year I can see shoots from the bulbs I planted in autumn cleaving up through the soil. And not only that: there’s flowers too! Top marks for the person who can tell me what the hell these are because all my brain keeps bleating is crocuses crocuses and I know they’re not bloody crocuses.
Brigid: saint, goddess and huge tarot energy
St Brigid is one of the three patron saints of Ireland (along with Patrick and Columba. I don’t know why Patrick gets all the glory, but what can you do. Anyway, not only that, Brigid is an ancient pagan Goddess to boot. That’s a pretty intense amount of multitasking she has to deal with right there.
An enternal flame was tended to her for centuries in Kildare (the county she comes from), seeing as she’s closely linked with poetry, fire, and, (in my mind at least), ‘suit of wands’ energy from the Tarot.
Here’s a picture I made of ‘suit of wands’ Brigid I made in Midjourney that I think is pretty spot-on.
