What do zines have in common with a customisable vintage art journal?
They're both in my February shop update
Hello again! This is Bee-witched, a beekeeper's creative response to ….waves hands at literally everything happening in the world right now. ☠️
Seeing as it’s February here in Belgium & the honey bees are still in survival mode there in their beehives, I’m emailing with ✨✨ a shop update ✨✨
2 new zines! 2 zines back in stock! 2 one-of-a-kind items (including a cool art journal)!
wait, wtf is a zine?
I was up in The Hague over the weekend - a weekend that coincided with a whole load of seemingly disconnected things that, surprise surprise, turned out to all fall into a recognisable pattern after the fact. Weird how that seems to happen.
I’m working on a longer piece about zines and feminine agency - honestly I have so many things to say about the art shows I was at in The Hague, and so much about the patron saint of girl power (aka St Brigid) that I can’t wrangle it all into one succinct narrative yet.

Shop update:
One of a kind items:
'Half Book': customisable art journal. Handmade in a convenient ‘half book’ size, complete with vintage altered cover & heavy duty clips. You can take out pages & add them as you like.
40 mixed pages - book pages, card, gesso spreads, photographs, etc.
12.5cm x 12cm

NO LOVELY WORD assemblage wall art. A thoughtful little memento mori for your favourite weirdo. This is a miniature assemblage, with a hand-painted altered mints tin as the base. Featuring: a miniature handmade clay moth, painted gold, blue lace trim, pink glitter, and collage wording: ‘life is short, leave no lovely word unsaid’.There’s also a ‘d’ hook on the reverse side, so that it can be hung flat against the wall. Like all of my work apart from the zines, this piece is completely one of a kind and will never be replicated.
New zines:
New, Weird and Interesting: The Staying Motivated Sidekick Zine. An interactive zine to help you keep on track with a long project. Print and use as many times as you like.
Micro Adventures (And How To Have Them) (zine). Tips to have your own mini adventures. It's been called different things by different people - ‘microadventure’ is a term that pops up a lot, which is one that I happen to like.

Back in stock:
A poem about trees: zine. This zine holds a poem about that I wrote to my unborn baby while I was still pregnant. It’s illustrated with mixed media collage art throughout 6 pages in full colour. It’s focused on the trees I walked under every day, with my son inside me, looking back to their past and our future, and whether the trees will still be there to watch over him as an adult.
A Series of Small Things Brought Together // origami zine. A paper envelope that unfolds as origami into a zine with found word poetry designed to galvanise you into creative action. I was going for that feeling where you kind of don’t want to open the zine because it’s so pretty all folded up, but then you do anyway! Isn’t that what zines are for? To be precious and used?

Thank you for reading.
Be kind to yourself and everyone else. I always love to hear from you in a comment, with a ❤️, or even a restack to Substack Notes. ✨
7 zines in my basket and the check out says 29€ for the shipping. I am sorry, but taxes and shipping are going insane and make small businesses lose sales opportunities.
